Front Row: my maternal grandmother Leona (Roberts) Redles, Margaret (Roberts) Graham, and Maie Dell (Roberts) Covington. Back Row: Mary Remer (Roberts) Parramore, Kathleen (Roberts) Winn, and Stella (Roberts) Pendleton.
Another one of the photos from my grandmother’s desk (at my mom’s house) that I scanned during my visit this past March This was taken on the front steps of the J. T. Roberts house in Valdosta, Georgia, maybe ca. early 1950s (my grandmother passed away in 1955). One sister, Edwina Roberts, is missing from the photo as she was an invalid and would not have been able to come outside. I love that this family took so many photos!

I love this photo - I think you can get an idea of each sister's personality in their facial expressions. And there are probably many copies of this photo that were shared with family members, assuming most of these women had children. What a treasure!
ReplyDeleteGREAT group shot. A lovely bunch of ladies. I agree with Elizabeth. You really do see the personalities in their expressions!
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth! I agree with you. Their personalities do come through on their faces in the photo. They look like they'e having a good time. And yes, they all had children (except for Edwina who's not in the photo). I bet there are a lot of copies of this photo floating around amongst the descendants.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cynthia! I love this photo! I wish I had gotten to know my grandmother, but her sisters were a trip! They were all around while I was growing up.
ReplyDeleteHappy Family!
ReplyDeleteThey sure do look like they're having fun!
