Blog Beginnings

I've been wanting to start a blog for a while, but I've been hesitant. I had no idea what to write about. I have so many interests. Which one should I focus on? Do I even want to put myself "out there" on a blog for all the world to see, mistakes and all? Then I read this post on DearMYRTLE's Genealogy Blog about why we should start our own blogs. It only took me a year and a half to finally get up the nerve to do it.

As suggested by Myrt, I'm hoping my genealogy blog will help me get my thoughts together and help me put together the bits and pieces from my research. I'm certainly no expert. I've learned a ton by reading other genealogy blogs, by pestering family researchers, and by my own trial and error. I also feel that my ancestors have stories to tell about their lives, and I want to do that for them. I want to share what information I have about my family that might help someone else in their research, and I want to connect with folks that might help me with mine. My blog won't just be about the Pendletons in spite of what the title implies. I named it after me :) I'm a Pendleton (of the Virginia Pendletons, as they say).

Please bear with me as I stumble through blogland while sharing my family's stories and anything else genealogical with you.

Catherine
