I had a "feeling" that my William Liming might be a part of the New Jersey Limings but could never make a connection. So glad to get all this info from you!Catherine Pendletonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04654928883264450088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7438242646485813024.post-64737664338325456672015-03-08T01:37:28.215-05:002015-03-08T01:37:28.215-05:00I found Dewilda in the 2008 book, page 119, son of...I found Dewilda in the 2008 book, page 119, son of James LemingCatherine Pendletonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04654928883264450088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7438242646485813024.post-79724517578493143342015-03-08T00:28:07.644-05:002015-03-08T00:28:07.644-05:00Our surname has soooo many variations. I usually just do searches now on ancestry Lem*, Lim* or Lym* The immigrant was known as Lyming, Liming, Lemon, Leming. John II is mostly seen as Liming, Limming, but a couple records as lemon or Lyman.Catherine Pendletonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04654928883264450088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7438242646485813024.post-75877521115545196792015-03-08T00:20:59.893-05:002015-03-08T00:20:59.893-05:00Dewilde is a NJ Liming family name that comes from...Dewilde is a NJ Liming family name that comes from John Liming II's wife Dinah Dewilde. They had a daughter Dewilde Liming 1720-1760, she died in Burlington, NJ and her will can be found in the NJ Will Books on archive.com. The name is used down John II descendants many times. I have never seen this Male Dewilde before. I Need to track this John too. Looks like I'm gonna be spending time on the John II branch for awhile nowCatherine Pendletonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04654928883264450088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7438242646485813024.post-82794955525683131092013-07-30T08:27:51.163-04:002013-07-30T08:27:51.163-04:00I loved reading these certificates! Hope you find that folder :)Catherine Pendletonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04654928883264450088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7438242646485813024.post-69237545824553367802013-07-29T19:57:12.474-04:002013-07-29T19:57:12.474-04:00These Seamen's Protections Certificates are fa...These Seamen's Protections Certificates are fascinating documents and very descriptive. I heard a lecture once at our local DAR meeting about the War of 1812 and the plot turned on these Certificates, and on a British ship being commandeered by a daring American sailor. Gosh, I wish I could remember the names. Maybe I'll hunt down that folder. : ))Catherine Pendletonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04654928883264450088noreply@blogger.com
